POST POLIO SUPPORT GROUP OF MAINE MEMORIAL FUND
During the past year, three of our Board Members passed on. We will miss the spirit, wisdom, energy and friendship of John McGonagle, Bob Philbrook, and Roger Sklar. There were several suggestions made to find some way to honor these active members, as well as other members of our organization who are no longer with us. We want to remember all of these wonderful people, thanking them for their dedication and commitment during their lifetimes, as well as to have a continuing recognition for members passing on in subsequent years.
At the April 17th meeting of the Board of Directors, we voted to establish a fund, in memory of all past and future members who have died. The funds will be used exclusively to benefit physically disabled students attending the University of Maine college system by providing equipment or other accessibility program needs to aid students while attending college.
We ask you to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to this Memorial Fund. This is an exciting way for us to help others embarking on their college years. By providing them with special aids, we hope to enable them to fully experience college life. At the same time, we do this out of caring and respect for all our members who are no longer with us. We will accept your donations through May 2005, at which time the proceeds will be presented to the University of Maine to fulfill current needs.
Thank you for your consideration.
